Food
I´m totally killing time here before we board the bus back to Canoa, (we had to take a day trip to San Vicente to visit a cash machine) so i´ll discuss food. For the most part, the seafood here is solid (as opposed to liquid or gaseous). Lots of shrimp and squid, which we prefer breaded, but also comes with rice, grilled or with garlic. The fish has its moments as well. Beef: also good. The only thing I´m really not sold upon is the chicken. There are exceptions of course, but oftentimes the chicken here tastes tough and gamey. I´ve always loved chicken the meat much more than chicken the animal, because their creepy gait and large talons don´t do it for me. Here there are plenty of cocks, hens and chickens of all types roaming freely. Though this might lead you to believe that they are delicious and free-range, again, color me skeptical. I´m just going to try to avoid chickens of all kind, in meat or bird format for the duration of the trip altogether. Wish me suerte.
